Amana freezer model families
Amana standalone freezers are a genuinely small, white-only line — we state this plainly rather than padding it with invented numbers. The upright AZF33X16DW is a 16 cu ft frost-free model; the chest AZC5216LW is a 16 cu ft unit; and the AQC0902LW is a compact 9 cu ft chest. Real discontinued models such as the AUF200KW, AQU1525AEW and AFU1505BW are supported as repair-lookup references.
What the technology means for service
These freezers carry the DeepFreeze® System, the Free-O-Frost™ System on frost-free uprights, the Fast Freeze Option and Energy-Saving Insulation, with a dial or simple setpoint control and no display. Identifying whether you own a frost-free upright or a manual-defrost chest tells a technician whether a repair involves a defrost heater and thermostat, a cold-control thermostat, a start relay, an evaporator fan or a door gasket — there is no code to read.
Reading the model and where to find it
The rating plate is usually inside the cabinet on a side wall or on the rear exterior. Record the full model string before booking so the correct genuine OEM part is matched the first time.
Choosing within the freezer line
The choice is upright versus chest. An upright AZF stores at eye level with shelves and is frost-free, while a chest AZC or AQC offers more usable volume per dollar and holds temperature longer during an outage. Capacity follows from there. Browse comparable units on the freezer models page.
Servicing your freezer
Our experienced, independent technicians service every Amana freezer with thermostats, defrost components, start relays, fans and gaskets matched to the build. Because these units carry no codes, note the symptom and your model number when you book freezer repair — pricing starts from $129, with the final cost depending on parts and configuration. Our labor is guaranteed, and specifications can be confirmed at amana.com.
