What we fix on Amana ranges.

/01

F1 E0 / F1 E1 control board fault

A modern Easy Touch Electronic Controls range shows F1 E0 (EEPROM communication) or F1 E1 (EEPROM checksum), pointing to the electronic control. The board, its connections, and the power supply are tested before it is replaced with a genuine OEM part.

/02

F2 E0 / F2 E1 keypad fault

An F2 E0 (shorted keypad) or F2 E1 (keypad ribbon unplugged) means the touch panel is not communicating. The ribbon connection is reseated and the keypad tested before any control assembly is fitted.

/03

F3 E0 / F3 E1 oven sensor fault

An F3 E0 (sensor open) or F3 E1 (sensor shorted) means the oven temperature sensor reads out of range, so baking runs hot or cold. The RTD sensor and its harness are tested against spec and replaced if drifted before any element is condemned.

/04

F5 E0 / F5 E1 door-lock fault

An F5 E0 or F5 E1 door-lock fault, plus F9-1 (latch will not lock) or F9-2 (latch will not unlock), usually appears after a Self-Clean Option cycle. The lock motor, its switch, and the control output are tested so the door locks and releases safely.

/05

F9 E0 right after installation

An F9 E0 electrical / miswire code most often appears on a freshly installed range. The 240V supply, the outlet wiring, and the range connection are checked first — this is a wiring fault, not a failed board, in the large majority of cases.

/06

Oven not heating or uneven

The oven will not reach temperature or browns unevenly. A failed bake or broil element, a drifted oven sensor, or a relay on the control board; element resistance and the sensor are tested before any part is fitted, and Bake Assist Temps and Warm Hold are verified.

/07

Gas burner will not ignite / clicking

An AGR gas burner clicks but will not light, or keeps clicking after lighting. Moisture under the cap needs to dry, otherwise a clogged port on a Sealed Burner, a weak igniter, or the spark module; gas burners have NO error code, so this is diagnosed by symptom.

/08

Smoothtop element or cooktop fault

An AER smoothtop surface element will not heat or stays on. A failed radiant element, an infinite switch, or the element receptacle; the element and switch are tested, and the SpillSaver™ Upswept Cooktop glass is checked for cracks that require a full surface replacement.

These are the most common issues — not an exhaustive list. Our technicians diagnose and repair any Amana range problem, including intermittent faults, unusual symptoms, and issues not listed here.

About Amana range repair

Common Amana range problems

Reliable Amana range repair starts with the way these value-built cookers are made — a coil-electric ACR, a smoothtop AER, or a gas AGR range, each pairing a cooktop with a self-cleaning oven. On the electric oven of any Amana range the modern Easy Touch Electronic Controls report genuine F#E# codes: F1 E0 and F1 E1 (control board), F2 E0/F2 E1 (keypad), F3 E0/F3 E1 (oven sensor open or shorted), F5 E0/F5 E1 (door lock), F6 E1 (over-temp during cook), and F9 E0 (electrical / miswire, common right after install), plus F9-1 and F9-2 for the latch. The gas cooktop is a different story: a Sealed Burner has no error code, so a burner that will not ignite or keeps clicking is read by symptom. The SpillSaver™ Upswept Cooktop, the Self-Clean Option, Bake Assist Temps, Warm Hold, and the Extra-Large Oven Window keep these ranges cooking simply, but elements, sensors, relays, igniters, and gaskets still wear over time.

Our Amana range repair process

As an independent, third-party service our experienced technicians begin every Amana range repair by confirming the exact model and fuel type, because an ACR coil-electric, an AER smoothtop, and an AGR gas range each fail differently. On the electric oven they read any code before testing the named part — the control board on an F1, the keypad ribbon on an F2, the RTD oven sensor against spec on an F3, the lock motor on an F5 or F9-1/F9-2, the relay and cooling path on an F6 E1, and the 240V supply wiring on an F9 E0, which is almost always a miswire rather than a failed board. On the gas cooktop, which has no display, they work from the symptom: a burner that will not light is traced through the igniter, the burner port, and the spark module, and a well that clicks after cleaning often just needs to dry out before the moisture clears. We fit genuine OEM parts from trusted parts suppliers, and every visit is backed by a 30-day labor warranty on the workmanship. Most repairs finish in a single trip, and you can book a range repair online at any time, with a clear quote before work begins and a total that depends on the diagnosis — never a fixed price sight unseen.

Amana range models we service

We service the current US Amana range lineup across all three fuel types at the 30-inch size. Coil-electric ACR models include the ACR4303MMS, ACR4303MFW, ACR4303MFB, ACR4303MFS, and ACR4203MNS; smoothtop AER models include the AER6303MMS, AER6303MFW, AER6303MFB, AER6303MFS, and AER6603SFS; and gas AGR models include the AGR6303MMS, AGR6303MMW, AGR6603SMS, AGR6603SFW, AGR4203MNS, AGR4203MNB, AGR4203MNW, and AGR4230BAW. We also service real discontinued AER and AGR families as parts-only repair-lookup work. These ranges carry Easy Touch Electronic Controls, the SpillSaver™ Upswept Cooktop and Sealed Burners on gas builds, Bake Assist Temps, Warm Hold, the Self-Clean Option, Sabbath Mode, Oven Lockout, and a Storage or Broiler Drawer. The electric oven uses the F#E# code set, while every gas cooktop burner is diagnosed by symptom. Our model directory lists the elements, igniters, spark modules, oven sensors, relays, and control boards matched to each build so the correct genuine OEM part is sourced the first time. If your Amana cooker is a built-in oven with no cooktop, see our oven repair page instead.

Error codes and diagnostics

An Amana range is diagnosed on two fronts. The electric oven reports genuine F#E# codes on Easy Touch Electronic Controls: F1 E0/E1 control board, F2 E0/E1 keypad, F3 E0/E1 sensor, F5 E0/E1 door lock, F6 E1 over-temp during cook, and F9 E0 electrical or miswire, with F9-1 and F9-2 for the latch. Older single-character boards instead show F0 through FF — a given range uses one scheme, not both. To reset a transient fault the breaker is switched off for 30 to 60 seconds; if the code recurs the named part is tested. Note that Amana writes the digits F-then-E (F3 E1), not the E-then-F order another brand uses, and the gas cooktop burners have no code at all. Our technicians confirm each code or symptom at the named part before fitting anything, and you can look up what each one means on our range error-code guides.

Service areas

Our specialist technicians cover all 50 states and the District of Columbia plus 40-plus metro areas, with a standard 24-48 hour response and same-day visits where availability allows. Amana cooking carries the brand’s long American-built heritage into the home, and a range that pairs a coil, smoothtop, or sealed-gas cooktop with a self-cleaning oven deserves a technician who treats both halves with the same care. Every visit is handled by a skilled technician who carries the diagnostic tools and the genuine OEM parts most likely needed, so the fault is identified and, wherever possible, fixed on the first trip. Full specifications and the current range lineup are published by the manufacturer at amana.com.
